Peppermint Cookie Skillet

● 3/4 cup unsalted butter
● 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
● 1/2 cup white sugar
● 1/2 teaspoon salt
● 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
● 1 large egg
● 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
● 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
● 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
● 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Optional (but highly recommended!)
● holiday spirit
● ice cream
● hot fudge or chocolate sauce

Directions:

1. In your Xtrema skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Allow butter to brown,
stirring occasionally, until the butter has a nutty aroma and is about the
color of graham crackers. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

2. In a large bowl, add browned butter, sugars, and salt and stir until well
combined. Add vanilla extract and egg, and stir to combine.

3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just mixed. Add
crushed candy canes and stir until they are well dispersed.

4. Spread the cookie dough evenly in your Xtrema skillet and bake for 20 - 25
minutes; the cookie will be lightly browned. Remove from heat and allow to
cool for 10 minutes or so. Top with ice cream and serve. Enjoy!
